Well I did a day in the life post, so for those of you left wondering what I do on my day off… Here ya go!
To me, my day off starts as soon as I get off on Tuesday night & although usually never planned, I always stay up SUPER late (3 am this time) I really need to stop doing that. I just got doing a bunch of stuff & then looked at my clock and crap! It was 3 am. Anyway, that will explain why I slept in the next morning..
11:15- Wake up
11:20-12:30 Eat breakfast, Shower, Start a load of my laundry & get ready for the day
12:30-2:00 Driving. It usually doesn’t take me this long to get to where I was going (next entry) but I wasn’t paying attention & drove right past the interstate entrance ramp that I usually take. My GPS didn’t say to make a U-turn so I figured it would still get me where I needed to go, just in a different route. So I follow it & nothing looks familiar. I end up on these tiny that Hummer’s are NOT meant to go on. It’s telling me to turn left in 500 feet. When in 500 feet is a dead end. In the midst of being lost I found a post office, I needed to go there anyway, so I decided to take a break & run in and mail off a few things. By the time I got out, the GPS had repositioned itself & FINALLY got me to the right place.
2:00- 5:00- Volunteer @ Habitat for Humanity. I decided that I was spending way too much money on my days off. I wanted to get out of the house and do something, but that always involved spending money that I needed to be saving. So I decided that volunteering was the perfect solution to my problem. I emailed a few places, but Habitat just seemed like the best choice. I just do random stuff around the office. This time I went, I called people to notify them if they had one a raffle prize from a fundraising event, then I researched places to get stadium cups for a future fundraising event. The bulk of my time I spent working on a bulletin board, I never knew those things took so long. So far I really like volunteering there, the people are super nice and I feel like I am making a difference in the community, and saving some money in the process.
5:00- 5:30 Driving towards home. No getting lost this time.
5:30- 6:30- Target. I can’t think of a week since I’ve been here that I haven’t gone to Target. I guess its cuz I would usually just run to the store whenever, but since I can’t do that here, I build my list up all week and make 1 trip. I love Target!
6:30-7:00 Dinner with self at Panera bread. Yup you read that right. I am not afraid to eat dinner in a restaurant by myself. It’s actually quite relaxing, just me, my tomato mozzarella Panini, mango smoothie and a book. Nerdy.
7:15 I finally get home unload my stuff & eat the piece of cake I bought at target. It wasn’t the best so I shared with Hannah. hehe
7:30 Jayson gets home from his Detroit trip seeing the Lions and Tigers play. He brought a ton of souvenirs as always. He got me a cute Tigers shirt. Thanks Jayson!
8:00-9:00 Folding/ Putting away my laundry & talking to Krista, but mostly talking to Krista. Have I ever mentioned how I am not a good multi-tasker when it comes to talking on the phone? Well now you know.
9:00 Bath & talking to mom & dad. The normal.
9:30 Remaking bed and finishing putting away laundry- Putting away target stuff
10:00-11:15 Blogging. I feel weird putting this as I am blogging.
11:15- 11:45 Do some more research for Habitat for Humanity events.
11:45-12:30 Computer time: Blog post, email & pinterest
12:45 Sleepy time {the BEST}
Sometimes my days off are more eventful, sometimes I just hang out at home & sometimes they consist of sleeping most of the day. (Those are my favorites:) But for the majority of the time it’s something like listed above. There you have it.
