Summer Activites

Well Summer is in full swing now and I figured it was time to come up with some summer bordem busters. So here is my game plan for the week...

It's an ice cream activty chart! If you can't tell by the picture, its had it's wear and tear through out the years of babysitting. I don't know why, but the kids really like the silly concept of it. I have thought of 6 simple activities for the week, that we can do when the girls are bored and I have a minute, AKA Christian's nap time. They take turns picking an ice cream, doing the activity on the back, then adding it to the cone. When all the "scoops" are gone, we will start over for next week! I'll do my best to remember to take pictures of the activites we do and post them next week!

Well, I think three posts is enough for one day, so I will see ya next week!

Where did my money go???

Besides the obvious perks of being a nanny, the money doesn't hurt either :) I get paid pretty dang good to do a job I love!!! But ya know that saying "The more money you have, the more you spend??" Well I am now a beliver! Up to this point I have been pretty good about saving (yes, there are some new clothes) but then the horrible happend... My ipod broke! & those who know me, know I can't live without my music! It got a few drops of water on it while we were at the great wolfe lodge & apparently those few drops caused $200 worth of damage! I have also been due for a new phone for a while now, my good ol' LG Chocolate has stood faithfully beside me for 4 years, but it has been waiting to retire for some time. So instead of paying to get my ipod fixed and a new phone seperatley, I decided to splurge and buy a match made in heaven; and ipod and a phone: An Iphone!!

I love it!! So far I am very pleased with the investment :) But a day after I bought it, plane ticket prices started going up, so I decided to jump on buying my ticket home & over $500 later, I offically have my ticket home!! July 17 is THE date!!! Well, needless to say I will not be spending any money for a while, while I try to recover from two giant purchaces, but both make me a pretty happy girl :)

Weak Spot

I have a few things I wanted to blog about today, so I am doing them each in separate posts.

I will start with what happened shortly after I posted last week.

Last Sunday I was having one of those days. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my job, but it’s not always fun and games. I get homesick, I get sad and I miss my family. I stay pretty busy during the week, so I don’t have much time to get homesick. But on my days off, with nothing much to do I sometimes get a little homesick. Especially last Sunday, starting at church when everyone was talking about their dad’s for father’s day. But it really hit me hard while I was looking for a picture of my dad to put on last week’s post and I came across these….

Isn’t she beautiful??Even while acting silly :) She is my weak spot. I hate to admit it, but I miss her more than anyone. I miss her sweet little voice and cute personality. I miss her kisses, hugs and snuggles. I just miss spending time with her. We have a special connection and my worst fear is that we will lose it with me being so far away. Before I came here, I didn’t have a job, so I spent a lot of my time with Aydri. We would go to the park, make crafts and eat lunch together. So with all of these factors in play, I had my first big cry since I have been here. I guess I held it all in for too long, because when it came, it came big! But I am happy to say, I had a much better week this week & I am looking forward to a fun week coming up & look forward to going home next month!!!

Daddy's Girl

I will admit it: I am a daddy's girl. But any girl with a dad as amazing as mine would be to. I can honestly say I have the perfect dad. I wouldn't change a thing about him. In fact, his huge bear hugs are one of top 5 things I miss about home. But his hugs are only one of the million amazing things he has to offer. He somehow mangages to make me smile no matter how bad my day is going. I've been told the story of when I was in second grade, my teacher asked the class who they thought were lucky. My classmates were answering with people like celebrities, but when it was my turn. I said my mom was lucky becasue my dad is so funny! I still beleive that to be true.

So yes, he is probably the funniest person I know, but he is also one of the most loving, dedicated and hardworking people I know. He is one of those people that everyone likes, & I know even if he wasn't my dad, I would love him. He is the "Cool" dad, but without sacraficing taking parenting seriously. There are a million more things I could say about him, but to sum it all up: My future husband has some big shoes to fill :D

Dad: If your reading this, I wan't you to know how much I love and miss you! Be prepared for the biggest hug ever next month in the airport!! You are the best dad I could ever ask for, thank you for everything!!!
